From Runs To Donations: Here’s How This Company In Malta Gives Back

One betting company in Malta is going out of its way to give back to Maltese society – and their track record proves it without a shadow of a doubt.

Meridianbet Group is already a leader in gaming, but a look at the charities it’s backed and the financial and logistical support it’s shown for both Maltese, as well as international foundations and organisations, speaks volumes about its wider mission.

As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to cause severe challenges to a number of sectors, here are some of the incredible donations Meridianbet Group has done for Maltese NGOs and charities.

1. Dar Bjorn

Meridianbet had proudly donated to DAR Bjorn, part of the ALS Malta Foundation, back in 2020. Lovin Malta has closely followed ALS activist Bjorn Formosa and his mission to build a bigger and better home for people living with ALS, MS and other neurological conditions.

2. The Inspire Foundation

The Inspire Foundation supports people living with neurological impairments, learning difficulties and other conditions like autism, and their families. Meridianbet was able to supply Inspire with some crucially-needed technical equipment, leading to a better quality of life for patients and their families.

3. Movember Campaign

Meridianbet teamed up with iSoftbet to raise money for the Movember campaign, hosting a 5km run in Riviera Bay alongside brand ambassador and HIIT trainer Steve Sammut Nurminen from movewithsteve.

Aside from this, it aimed to raise €10,000 in donations – and that’s not all, accouncing another additional contribution to Dar Bjorn.

4. The COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund

Meridianbet Group aims to prioritise the needs of others, be it through donations, technical support or otherwise. It puts its money where its mouth is when it donated €2,000 to the COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund, supported by the World Health Organisation (WHO), in collaboration with the UN Foundation and a global network of fiduciary partners

5. Vulnerable communities across Europe

The Meridianbet Group decided to make a central corporate policy of theirs to help communities in need across Europe as the pandemic continues onward. Meridianbet supported front-liners and communities and institutions on the battle lines of the pandemic.

Meridianbet Group provided financial, technical and logistical support to residents in small and remote areas, hospitals, medical workers, food banks and day-care centres, with the main focus being on the Balkan region and Cyprus, mainly in the form of direct financial donations and procurement of medical equipment.

Aside from making regular charitable contributions in a number of key areas, Meridianbet urge other businesses and stakeholders to join forces with them and help fund charities all over Malta and Gozo.

Who is Meridianbet?

Founded in Europe back in 2001, Meridianbet has now opened over four betting stores in Malta, inaugurating their fourth shop in Bugibba earlier last year. The Meridian Group has built an empire, with 993-betting shops across the globe, operating in 35 different countries across Europe, Africa, and Latin America.

The multinational organisation also successfully transitioned into an online empire, swiftly developing into one of the most well-established gaming groups in the business.
