Here’s Why Everyone Is Talking About The Valletta Boat Show
Take note seafaring fans, the annual Valletta Boat Show is back and it’s all happening in one of Malta’s newest marinas being launched this week. Lovin Malta got a sneak peek behind the curtain on its opening night and we have the rundown of all things boating and much more.
1. Ten times the charm
Believe it or not, the Valletta Boat Show (the only one of its kind in the Maltese islands) is heading in for it’s tenth edition this year, and with a decade’s worth of show experience under their belt, the organisers are promising a boat show that’s reminiscent of previous editions yet unlike any other we’ve seen so far.
2. It’s all set to take place in a dazzling new marina
Set to the backdrop of Valletta’s stunning bastions and medieval fortifications, this year’s boat show will be gracing the brand new Marina di Valletta, the result of a much-needed facelift to the Sa Maison ferry dock.
3. Long-weekend plans: sorted
Running a total of four days beginning Thursday 2nd and ending Sunday 5th November, the boat show will comprise everything from on-site yacht sales teams, to live shows each night.
4. Side-along entertainment in between your window shopping
As you peruse the vast array of yachts and cabin cruisers set out in the marina, why not test your palate with some vodka samples, or head over to the on-site bar for a refreshing cooler. Better still, take your drink with you and check out the nightly entertainment, with the likes of The Busker, Melchior Sultana and The Ranch gracing the Valletta Boat Show stage.
5. Boating equipment and so much more
If super-sized boats aren’t quite up your alley, be sure to check out the stunning set of cars on display along the marina quay. You could also head over to the on-site gym stand, which promises to cater to both your terrestrial and boating gym equipment needs. Or maybe you’re just looking for the latest tools for the upkeep of your boat or rib; the Valletta Boat Show has something for everyone.
6. Boats for days
Sure to make any wallet scream, brands like Beneteau, Princess, Azimut and Bavaria all are present at the boat show. Whether you’re a sports-yacht junkie, looking for a cabin-cruiser, or even entering the boating scene for the first time, the representatives from the respective sales teams are available throughout the event to give you first-hand advice on where to begin. You could even get a tour of the boats at the marina!
