Being a student is a crucial turning point in life.

It’s a time when you forge lifelong connections, figure out your identity and pursue a path that feels right. But it isn’t all late nights and parties – being a student is also a lot of hard work.

But that doesn’t mean banking should be hard.

That’s why HSBC has made opening a student account in Malta super easy.

Here are six reasons to start your financial journey with HSBC Bank.

1. A lot of useful freebies.

Opening a bank account today means you need digital access to make sure your accounts are in order. With HSBC, you get online banking, mobile banking and a Visa International Debit card absolutely free. Pretty useful, am I right?

2. The application process is a breeze.

Opening a bank account can be a tedious process, but not with HSBC. You can start your application process online, anywhere. Then, you’ll be given an appointment and finish up the application at the branch, where you’ll be given a welcome pack. Easy.

3. You also get a €50 welcome gift.

Speaking of freebies, if you open an HSBC student account and deposit your first stipend there, you’ll get an extra €50 added to your account by HSBC. How great is that? And if that’s not enough, all students will receive a welcome gift during their appointment at the branch.

4. You can get your yearly stipend doubled.

Hungry for some more goodies? Well, three lucky students who open a bank account with HSBC this year will be in the chance to win double their stipend for the coming scholastic year, up to €1,000.

That’s right, you can win €1,000 just for banking with HSBC.

All you have to do is take a photo featuring the welcome pack and upload it to Facebook, together with the hashtag #HSBCDoubleIt.

At the end of the campaign, the three photos with the most reactions will be contacted and if their stipend is credited to an HSBC account, they can claim the golden prize.

5. All your questions answered at Student Week.

Do you have any questions or concerns?

Fret not fellow schoolers, HSBC is allocating a dedicated Student Ambassador to every branch to help you every step of the way.

During this week, those who open their HSBC Student Account will also have another chance to have a “lucky dip” for yet another freebie. Find out more on their Facebook page.

6. The perks keep on rolling in your HSBC journey.

The beauty of banking with HSBC is that they don’t just lure you in with freebies.

From opening your first bank account with them to graduation, they’ll continue to provide all your banking needs in line with your life ambitions.

Proper banking is a milestone in the ever-important transition from adolescence to adult.

Make sure you start a relationship that truly makes you feel supported – and HSBC will help you feel just that.
