The Next Step

After 22 years of success since the first Maltese Christmas Pantomime at the Catholic Institute in December 2000, the Royal Theatre Company has taken the next step. For the first time, the pantomime will leave the Catholic Institute and be performed at the prestigious Dar il-Mediterran Theatre in Valletta. This majestic theatre will also host its first-ever Christmas pantomime.

Several performances of the Maltese-language ‘Is-Sleeping Beauty’ pantomime are scheduled:

Dar il-Mediterran Performances

  • Thursday, 26th December at 2:30pm and 7:30pm
  • Friday, 27th December at 7:30pm
  • Sunday, 29th December at 4:00pm
  • Monday, 30th December at 7:30pm
  • Tuesday, 31st December 2024 at 7:00pm (Panto + After Party)

The leading role of the Dame, for the seventh consecutive year, will be performed by the talented actor Rodney Gauci, a name synonymous with the Royal Theatre Company’s pantomime productions. Joining him are well-known singers and actors such as Clara Sciberras, Gorg Micallef, Brian Farrugia, Mariah, Lee-N, Petra, Rebecca Bilocca, Leah Mifsud, Jacob Piccinino, Matteo Camilleri Testa, Joseph Fenech, Luca Borg Pardo, Moses Galea and Beppe Calleja Tonna, under the direction of Bryan Muscat.

For the 10th consecutive year, the Kinetic Dance Academy will play a prominent role in this pantomime. Live music will once again be directed by Maestro Conrad Briffa and the new costumes will be designed by Loui Noir.

Equally essential to a production of this level is the makeup team led by Verena Portelli, along with her team, and the stage and props crew headed by Joe Callus and his team, supported by many others who remain behind the scenes but are crucial to the show’s success.

The Royal Theatre Company also announces that the same pantomime, with the same set, cast and costumes, will be performed on different dates at the renovated Don Bosco Oratory Theatre in Rabat, Gozo:

  • Saturday, 4th January 2025 at 7:30pm
  • Sunday, 5th January 2025 at 5:30pm

Booking for all performances is now open on the website or by calling 99476468.
