How Many Millionaires Are There In Malta?
Money makes the world go around, but just how many millionaires does Malta have among us? Malta’s millionaires are getting richer and richer according to new statistics, but just how wealthy are they?
A report on wealth distribution and social mobility recently conducted on the EU member states by Eurofund found that between 2010 and 2017 Malta was one of the five countries that have experienced a clear increase when it comes to wealth inequality.
Based on the national Household Finance and Consumption Survey that was conducted by the European Central Bank in 2010, 2014, and 2017 – some pretty interesting facts came out.
From 2010 to 2017, the 5% that make up the wealthiest people on the island saw their savings grow from 33% all the way to 40%. This means that the richest of the rich have registered the largest increase.
Henley & Partners, in their latest round of projections, have even claimed that Malta has 9,400 high-net-worth individuals on its shores, with each worth in excess of €1 million. This also includes 460 multi-millionaires, 27 people with more than €100 million to their name and two billionaires.
