The expression “health is wealth” might be a cliche but it never rings truer than when you get a scare at the doctor’s office.

Just in time for Movember, local funny-man Luke Lyttleton opened up with Lovin Malta’s Chris Peregin about the highs and lows of life – fulfilling his dream of having children, his viral Tiktok videos and his experience battling testicular cancer.

All this went down in a stunning, award-winning, leather-honed Isuzu D-Max, courtesy of GasanZammit.

“Six months after I got married, I was diagnosed with testicular cancer. Now, I’m trying to raise awareness about it. I want to make people feel comfortable about going to get checked,” Lyttleton told Peregin in the drive around Malta.

Luckily, the comedian survived the health scare and now focuses on making people laugh online, enjoying fatherhood and making time to be a health activist too.

You can learn all about Lyttleton in the full episode of What’s the Story? Here. But until then, these are a few favourite things we learnt about him during the drive.

  1. The happiest day of his life was the day his daughters were born.
  2. He prefers beer over cider.
  3. He’s garnered millions of views on Tiktok.
  4. He found out he had cancer over a drunken night.
  5. His favourite song is Labrinth’s Still Don’t Know My Name.

Speaking of music, the Isuzu D-Max has got a luxurious interface, with all the latest apps to hear your favourite tunes at the touch of a button. All on crisp surround sound speakers, of course.

It’s also got an indicator system called the Lane Departure Warning and it seems like it was made for Malta.

“It basically stops you from changing lanes without indicating. These will train Maltese people to use it!” Peregin laughed.

Well explained, Peregin.

The modern pickup truck is packed with other useful features.

It’s got a forward-collision warning system, which assist you when there’s a risk of colliding with something stationary or moving in front of you.

Then there’s the genius that is the autonomous emergency braking system (AEB). AEB is basically a system that makes your car a better, safer driver than you, which is why it’s a shame it’s not standard fitment on every new vehicle sold.

In other words, the Isuzu D-Max is truly an all-rounder car. It’s sleek, super safe and perfect for memorable drives like Peregin and Luke
