Article Featured Image

The crisp weather of autumn is upon us and Valletta Waterfront is inviting everyone with plenty to explore, discover, and experience! Spice up your season with a host of casual activities along the promenade whilst enjoying the fabulous surroundings in the historic Grand Harbour, a short distance away from central Valletta.

If you’re looking for things to do on those slow Saturday and Sunday afternoons, look no further! Say goodbye to the days where you simply don’t know what to do, as the Waterfront has packed in two fun-filled months of activities for everyone to enjoy and create some amazing Autumn Vibes.

Here are six things that you can expect to see when you go out for a bite to eat or a drink (or two) on Saturday afternoon or for a long leisurely lunch on a Sunday followed by a stroll along the Valletta Waterfront.

1. Enjoy some live music

Just after your rush of weekend errands or after a good long lie-in, a walk along the Waterfront will feel like you are walking through the perfect symphony where different artists will be busking live along the way on different days. Various musicians will be showcasing their talents and entertaining patrons with their distinct sounds to beat those autumn blues!

Tip: Most of the musicians will be happy to have a brief chat and play your favourite piece. Join in some lively sing-alongs at Bentley’s Malta if you want to up-your-tempo!

2. Meet some cool characters

All of the characters which your children love are making an appearance at the Waterfront every weekend. Get your kids away from the screen and give them the opportunity to meet Peppa Pig, Spiderman, Mickey, Minnie Mouse, and loads of other characters in person. These will be roaming the promenade on Saturday lunchtime and evenings as well on Sunday afternoons. You can view the full list of characters who will be making an appearance here

3. Admire the street art and join in!

The Waterfront is slowly becoming a hive for busking artists. A number of street artists have been commissioned to create thematic artworks which you can enjoy watch being created and coming to life. You can also have your caricature drawn up completely free of charge! Always wanted to try your hand at art or chalk-painting? You now have the opportunity to help the artists with their work.

4. Sip on a warm drink

Think you’re too busy to check out the Waterfront this autumn? Don’t fret, you can still experience this magical atmosphere whilst working.  Sit down at Starbucks, order yourself a pumpkin-spiced latte and work away. If pumpkin spice is not your thing, the Valletta Waterfront has plenty to suit your tastes: from warm beverages to cool cocktails for those autumn balmy days when we may think that it is still summer.

6. Feed your soul with some delicious food

Craving sushi? Or a hearty Maltese dish like ‘nanna’ used to make? A luscious grill or some Mediterranean bites? You are simply spoilt for choice when it comes to picking your next dining option. From Forn Ta’ L-Għawdxi to Ta’ Detta, Browns to Bistro 516, Pepe Nero to Nan Yuan, Hard Rock Cafe to Wasabi Express, Crave to Q Bar, there really is something for everyone at Valletta Waterfront. To avoid disappointment, we suggest you make your reservation in advance. You can check out the full list of restaurants, cafes and bars here

Kids eat free? Yes, it’s true!

Running late and no time to cook supper this Tuesday? Want a break from the usual routine simply to regroup for some family time in a different environment? Then the Valletta Waterfront Tuesdays Kids Eat Free are just for you. Most Valletta Waterfront restaurants are making the family-restaurant experience more fun with one children’s meal on the house every Tuesday until the end of October. Check this out for more information.

On top of all this, the Waterfront is also successfully adhering to all COVID-19 measures in place. This means that the Waterfront is the perfect place for you to go, no matter if you’re a busy bee, a social butterfly, or a family looking to spend some quality time together.

And if it’s drizzling, not a problem. Put on your boots and raincoat and head to this seaside destination for a touch of fun and adventure. The indoor historic vaults and the recently installed outdoor canopy have got you covered. Indeed, the picturesque Grand Harbour views are awe-inspiring on days-like-these.

Life is a beautiful ride and the Valletta Waterfront destination helps ensure that every season offers a fresh leaf for you to enjoy and savour, making the most of those beautiful moments.
