Maltese Creative Studio Clinches International Prize For Their Awesome Design
Malta has once again proven how talented and cosmopolitan it truly is. One of the most tasteful design studios on the island, Projet Noir, has had its incredible work recognised this year when it won the 2017 Fedrigoni Special Award in Italy.
The prestigious award is given to the most excellent on-paper design, and it’s no surprise that Projet Noir were nominated and won the award for their incredible product label design, apart from also being one of the design houses to receive an honourable mention at the show.
And that was no small feat – more than 109 agencies with over 800 artworks were participating in the VI Edizione OpenArtAward International Advertising Award this year.
But their eye-catching winning design just had to be recognised, and their award was well-deserved for the team who put such meticulous thinking in their beautiful work.
The design studio, which was founded in September, 2013, also won two other international awards last year for ‘Best TVC’ and ‘Best Brand Identity Design’ – and there’s a reason behind all that success, as founder and creative director Jean Karl Izzo told Lovin Malta.
“Being a specialised agency with a boutique approach allows us to handcraft work of international standards,” he said. “This year’s award was given to us for a project we worked on for last year’s Christmas gift to our clients. It’s great to have our creative work recognised and even better because we had carte blanche to take the design wherever we wanted it to go.”
Jean Karl knows that what Projet Noir does best is create a high quality and timeless design – and he is as ambitious and determined as ever to constantly deliver to Projet Noir’s high standards.
Their works are always consistent and regularly garner praise for their great attention to detail. It’s no surprise that they attract top prizes year after year.
More than anything, these awards and the recognition that they bring give the agency the fuel and fire to continue producing some of the greatest work on the island, even when it comes to a small market like that of Malta’s.
Looking at the way Projet Noir and Jean Karl Izzo in particular approach design, a quote from the famous industrial designer Charles Eames comes to mind: “The details are not the details – they make the product.”
And as long as they continue to be as meticulous with their designs and timeless with their work, we are sure to be seeing Projet Noir winning more and more international awards.
