Malta’s Paralympians are set to shine on the global stage at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games, and they won’t be doing it alone.

Hudson, the official distributor of Nike across Malta and Africa, is once again stepping up as the main sponsor, kitting out our athletes in top-tier Nike gear as they chase their dreams in the City of Lights from 28th August to 8th September, 2024.

This marks Hudson’s second time supporting Malta’s national team at the Paralympic Games, having first thrown their weight behind the team during the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics. With a commitment to empowering athletes of all abilities, Hudson is all in, showcasing their dedication through a series of inspirational videos that highlight the resilience and spirit of Malta’s Paralympians.

“Sport has the power to inspire and unite,” says Kim Ellul Sullivan, Nike Group Marketing Specialist at Hudson.

“We’re incredibly proud to stand behind our Maltese Paralympians as they take on Paris 2024. This partnership isn’t just about sponsorship; it’s about celebrating determination and breaking down barriers,” concluded Kim Ellul Sullivan.

“Adaptive athletes embody the true spirit of sportsmanship and resilience. Our Paralympic athletes are ambassadors of sport, changing perceptions and breaking down negative stigmas so that future generations with disabilities can live the lives they deserve. When you think about it like that, it’s bigger than winning at any time,” Indrek Heinmets, Nike Brand Director at Hudson, added.

Among those flying the Maltese flag high will be swimmer Maja Theuma and veteran athlete Antonio Flores. Maja, at just 24, has already made waves on the international scene, competing in the ‘S6’ Para swimming category. Antonio, with over 15 years of experience, will compete in the 100m and 200m events for single-leg amputees, a discipline known for its thrilling, high-speed races.

Leading the team is Dr. Julian Bajada, MPC Secretary General and a Para athlete himself. He emphasises that this collaboration with Hudson and Nike is about more than just competing—it’s about changing the narrative around disability and sport in Malta.

“This partnership underscores our commitment to supporting local talent and inspiring future generations,” Bajada shares.

As Malta’s athletes prepare to make history, the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games promise to be a spectacular event, featuring competitions at iconic venues like the Eiffel Tower and the Grand Palais. For the first time, the opening ceremony will unfold outside of a stadium, with athletes parading down the Champs-Élysées in a powerful display of inclusivity and unity.

With Hudson and Nike in their corner, Malta’s Paralympians are ready to show the world what they’re made of.

Follow their journey and cheer them on as they take on Paris!
