No Capes Required: The Real Stories Of Wolt’s Working Mums

They don’t wear capes, but they do carry backpacks, changing bags, laptops and snack packs, all in one morning.
The working mums at Wolt are quietly pulling off one of the most demanding balancing acts around: parenting and progressing in their careers at the same time. They juggle calendars, client calls and mum-life, often before most of us have finished our first coffee.
This Mother’s Day, we’re spotlighting the real stories. The behind-the-scenes, no-glamour-needed version of motherhood at work. Because being a working parent isn’t just a job title, it’s a daily negotiation between deadlines and dinnertime, emails and emotions.
And while there’s no perfect formula, at Wolt, what makes the difference is culture. One built on empathy, flexibility and trust. These are the stories of three women living that balance – not flawlessly, but fearlessly.

Jeanelle Camilleri
“Trust is the key that lets me balance work and motherhood.”
Jeanelle is a Sales Specialist and a mum whose calendar reads like a military operation: client calls, strategy meetings, school pickups, dinner prep and quality time with her child. It’s not easy. But it’s working.
“The most important thing is to be patient and try not to overdo it,” she says. She credits Wolt’s flexibility with making that possible. On days when parenting takes priority, she doesn’t need to justify herself. She adapts – and trusts her team to understand.“The ability to work from home when I need to be with my son—whether he’s sick or there’s something else—is amazing. It makes all the difference.”
For Jeanelle, the support from her team at Wolt doesn’t just stop at flexible hours. She also feels trusted to get the job done. “As long as you give the results and you put your trust in other people, they will put trust in you.” That trust, she says, has made all the difference in staying committed to both her career and her family.
Petra Pullicino
“A blessed rollercoaster… full of excitement, exhaustion, and everything in between.”
Some mothers are just starting their journey. For Petra, Retail Development Manager, this is her first Mother’s Day as a mum-to-be and it’s one she won’t forget.
She describes her pregnancy as “a blessed rollercoaster – full of excitement, exhaustion, and everything in between.” In her fast-paced role, she expected the exhaustion. What she didn’t expect was the overwhelming support.
From colleagues who shared in the excitement of her journey to managers who insisted she prioritise her health, Petra has felt constantly reassured that she doesn’t have to choose between her career and her growing family.
That reassurance, she says, has been the key to experiencing this phase of her life with joy instead of stress.
Sarah Borg
“With Wolt’s support, I don’t have to choose between being a mom and a professional—I can be both.”
Returning to work after maternity leave can feel like stepping into a tug of war between two worlds. For Sarah, a Sales Support Associate and mum to baby Dean, the hardest part wasn’t just leaving work behind, it was knowing she has to say goodbye all over again, this time to her son.
“The real challenge now is finding a balance between work and my son, but I know I have the support I need.”
But what made the process easier was the flexibility and support she received at Wolt. Sarah has returned to work on reduced hours, a decision fully supported by her team, allowing her more time to focus on her son without compromising her career.
Those extra hours with Dean make a difference. “Both roles will be difficult to juggle,” she says. “But there is support.” And sometimes, that support is what makes everything feel possible.
No Superpowers, Just Real Support
These aren’t stories of perfection. They’re stories of real women doing their best and being met with a culture that sees the whole person, not just the employee. At Wolt, motherhood isn’t a challenge to accommodate.
In a world that often asks women to choose, these mums show us what’s possible when workplaces choose differently.
