Forsaken

Forsaken, one of Southern Europe’s longest-standing and premier doom metal outfits, will be performing at Rock The South Malta’s 11th Edition! Over their many years of plying their trade on stage, Forsaken built a strong reputation as a  powerful and emotionally charged live doom act. Apart from countless local gigs

and European tours, the band played in various reputable heavy metal festivals all over Europe. Captivating audiences with their dark and atmospheric sound since the early 1990s with powerful vocals, crushing riffs, and haunting melodies,  Forsaken has established itself as pioneer of the genre, earning it a  dedicated following worldwide.

Bump

Bumb is a home – a safe space that fosters a sense of community through shared emotion and understanding. The trio are on a mission to challenge the honesty within conventional boundaries of band culture – through songs of belonging, love, terror, joy, heartbreak and everything in between.

Hailing from London, bumb infuses nostalgic sounds from the ‘60s & ‘70s with contemporary production techniques to create a unique genre they like to call ‘Disco Disney’. At the core of their music lies a commitment to incorporate the human touch in their sound, whether it’s capturing the symphonic grandeur of a 40-piece orchestra or recording the raw authenticity of everyday sounds, like someone urinating into a toilet.

Dolls For Idols

Get ready to dance and rock out because Dolls for Idols are back after 10 years! Emerging from the alternative scene back in 2009, this dynamic trio created a buzz with their infectious blend of electronic synths and punk-driven hooks. Malta’s music scene couldn’t get enough of their energy, and soon they were building hype across  Europe. Dolls for Idols’ triumphant comeback after a decade-long hiatus is ready to bring their fresh tunes and electrifying live performances back to the stage at  Rock The South!

Brikkuni

Often credited with the revival of Maltese sung pop music, Brikkuni has been  making waves since their seminal 2008 debut “Kuntrabanda.” Their genre-bending pop/rock/punk hybrid transformed them into a local cult phenomenon, ushering in a new wave of Maltese alternative music in its wake. With captivating storytelling and thought-provoking lyrics, Brikkuni’s energetic performances have garnered them a dedicated fanbase both locally and internationally.

JOON

JOON is an electronic solo project by Maltese songwriter and producer, Yasmin  Kuymizakis. With ethereal vocals, celestial synths, and self-directed music videos inspired by B-movie tropes, JOON immerses listeners in a world of dreamy mysticism. Her debut album ‘Dream Again’ was released on Italians Do It Better in  2021, delivering a fusion of cushioned beats, woozy electronic layers, and messages of hope. In 2023, JOON’s captivating artistry gained further acclaim as she embarked on a direct support tour alongside Future Islands and performances at renowned festivals like Corona Capital in Guadalajara (Mexico),  sharing the stage with esteemed artists such as Thundercat, Pussy Riot, Poolside and Regina Spektor.

And many more exciting acts!

In addition to the stellar live band performances, Rock The South 2024 promises a unique Silent Disco experience, with the return of ‘Versus’ DJs playing out at the end of the night! Powered by White Noise, dance the night away under the stars on your own personal dance floor!
