Sick Of Waiting Rooms? Malta Now Has Healthcare That Comes To You

Are you tired of navigating traffic, hospital corridors and waiting rooms just to get the healthcare you need? Your wait is over. Healthcare in Malta can now be delivered to your door thanks to Healthmark’s Care at Home services.
Whether you’re recovering from surgery, living with a chronic condition or caring for an elderly parent, a multidisciplinary team of health care professionals now offer their services in the comfort of your living room.
“We meet so many people who want proper care but struggle with the logistics, whether it’s mobility issues, packed schedules or caring for someone else,” said Charlotte Sant Portanier, CEO of Healthmark. “By delivering personalised professional care at home, we’re not only making life easier, we’re improving the quality of life of patients. People access healthcare services faster, feel more in control and maintain their dignity and independence by being cared for in an environment that suits them.”

The new services cover a wide range of healthcare needs: physiotherapy to help patients regain strength and mobility, midwifery support for mothers and newborns and audiology services for hearing and balance issues. Speech and language therapy is also available for those facing communication or swallowing challenges, while podiatry, dietetics and occupational therapy cover everything from foot health to nutrition and home adaptation.
Neuropsychology is another key area, offering cognitive assessments and support for conditions such as dementia, brain injuries and epilepsy. These clinical services are further supported by a dedicated team of qualified nurses and carers, providing everything from wound care and medication administration to round-the-clock support, palliative care and companionship.
Whether patients need short-term assistance or long-term support, the goal is to offer the highest standard of care while helping them stay independent in the place they know best, their home.

Free Info Sessions For Families Navigating Care
To support families navigating care for themselves or loved ones, Healthmark is also launching LifeTalks, a series of free in-person info sessions designed to empower people with the knowledge they need to make confident care decisions.
The first session, “How To Access Care and Support Services in Malta”, will take place on 18th September at 5pm at Healthmark Academy in San Ġwann.
The talk will be led by Roslynn Vella, Chief Operations Officer at Hospice Malta and a long-standing social policy expert. With both professional and personal experience – her own mother was diagnosed with early-onset dementia – Roslynn will break down how care services work in Malta, how to find support and what practical steps families can take when navigating complex situations.
The second session, “How To Make Your Home More Dementia Friendly”, will take place on 9th October at 5pm, also at Healthmark Academy in San Ġwann. It will be delivered by Alexia Mercieca, an architect and academic specialising in dementia-friendly design.
Drawing from her research at the University of Edinburgh, Alexia will share smart, accessible ways to improve quality of life at home, whether you’re supporting someone with dementia or simply planning ahead.
Both sessions are free to attend and open to the public.
