Have you ever had an idea for a great business venture like a product or an app or even maybe a company an thought “if only I had the money for that..”? Well, an event is coming to Malta that could solve all your problems.

MedFest is a first-of-its-kind event here on the island that will feature a range of enterprises showcasing local innovation, advice and resources.

Organised by TakeOff and the Malta-Italy IKNOW Project, MedFest is looking for creatives, entrepreneurs and innovators

The event will culminate with the exciting ‘Live Pitches’, where the MedFest finalists will present their ideas to a room investors in the hopes of winning one of them over.

MedFest is based on the extremely successful UK model VentureFest, which began 21 years ago in Oxford. The organisers will assess all of the applicants and select four finalists from Malta who, together with four finalists from Sicily, will pitch their ideas to potential investors on December 14th.

The four chosen entrepreneurs from each country will be mentored intensively in order to prepare them for the pitches taking place on December 14th 2019 at the Valletta campus of the University of Malta.

Participants will receive expert mentoring, coaching and business advice while preparing for the December event.

This mentoring is valued at upwards of €15,000 – and is being provided absolutely free of charge.

Participants will also become members of the TAKEOFF business incubator at the university where they’ll be trained and guided based on an internationally successful ‘real world’ format.

The call for innovative business ideas is now open, and will close on the 30th September at noon.

Enterprise builders who believe they have something special to bring to the world, especially in high-tech, high-growth sectors, with priority to sectors of environmental sustainability and quality of life and human health, are encouraged to sign up by following this link.

The four shortlisted applicants will be announced in October, and will then embark on a mentorship programme over a three-month period before presenting their pitches in December.
