The summer months are going to be kicking off in style with a two-day music festival unlike anything Malta’s ever seen before.

Multiple genres, an extensive artist line up and endless potential for great memories. If you haven’t heard of DRUMFEST Malta yet, we’re breaking down every reason you should snag up some tickets… and telling you how you can get a couple of free ones too!

The concoction of music genres truly is wondrous

Unlike most music festivals, DrumFest is offering revellers a chance to jam out to a wide variety of sounds from both local and foreign artists, all varying in styles from rock to techno, bringing together all types of music lovers.

Oh, and since there’ll be music for everyone, you are contractually obligated to dance your heart out.

The ridiculous amount of talent

DrumFest has a very extensive list of artists making an appearance, and we’re highlighting some of the big names right here.

Unpredictable Events Limited, the organisers behind the festival, have already booked over 20 incredible acts, and are expected to announce even more in the coming days. But here are some you just can’t miss.

1. Vitalic

Incredible French artist Vitalic has been lighting up stages for over a decade and has a long list of hits to his name.

Now, Vitalic will grace the DrumFest stage with a set that’s guaranteed to get you dancing all night long.

2. Dr. Lektroluv

The iconic man with the green mask himself. One of the most recognisable (latex) faces in electro, Dr. Lektroluv first emerged on the scene in the early 00s.

Having blessed the islands with a couple of blistering sets last decade, the Belgian electro wizard is set to make his grand return to Malta very soon.

3. Airport Impressions

One of Malta’s biggest bands, Airport Impressions have found great success at both local and foreign festivals… including an appearance at the 2016 Isle Of MTV. Get ready to belt out all your favourites.

4. The Areola Treat

A beloved name in the alternative music scene, The Areola Treat are a staple high-octane act that can get any crowd pumping.

A slew of world-class DJs like Dave Clarke, Luke Slater, DJ Rush will also be taking it in turns to rock the crowd

From Boiler Room to Toazted, Dave Clarke’s DJ sets are electro feasts.

Luke Slater is one of Britain’s electronic music and techno pioneers, with a career that has spanned over two whole decades. Slater headlined London’s acid house scene in the late 80s and early 90s.

Mixing contemporary Brazilian Jazz, disco and even The Beatles, DJ Rush gets you moving no matter what. His hard techno sets take you from his birthplace of Chicago to his adopted home of Berlin.

Beyond all of that, one of the biggest acts (literally) that will take the stage is the group Kortrijk Drumt

They’re group of over 45 Belgian drummers who will take the stage along with local drummers to perform a medley of hits.

The nearly 100 drummers will create a truly exciting display of combined musical talent, much like the one in the video below. And frankly, we need more of this in our lives!

Full Line Up

And there’s even more talent to come

In fact, there are at least 20 confirmed artists and performers who will set the festival alight in June, and some of the other big names include Anthony Rother, T.Raumschmiere and Owen Offset.
