Ludicrous jackpots have become part and parcel of Maltese life thanks to the arrival of massive lotteries like the EuroMillions, and the next massive jackpot has got us positively daydreaming.

An insane €130 million is what Maltese people can win next, and we’ve been trying to figure out what we’d spend it on!

Thanks to The Lotter‘s new initiative, you can now bet on some of the world’s biggest lotteries… including none other than EuroMillions’ ridiculous jackpot currently worth over one. hundred. million.

So if you’re still not sure what you’d spend all that money on, allow us to give you some inspiration with what we’d do with it.

1. Chris Peregin

“I would buy a block of flats in Sliema and demolish it into a park. And get a boat with a 10-person crew.”

Come on; we could all do with a little bit more greenery, and wouldn’t that be awesome?!

And after you’ve done giving Malta all that greenery, you could do with some blueness yourself.

2. Chiara Micallef

“I’d solve the homelessness problem in Malta… and buy a lifetime’s supply of pastizzi.”

Selfless and all about traditional food? We love it.

3. Steffie Weenink

“Buy an old paroċċa’s theatre and run my own company that pays artists real money to create high quality work.”

Take that, exposure.

4. Tim Diacono

“Buy an island somewhere in the far east, buy a big boat and start a business which involves taking passengers to that island. Invest in one or more of Elon Musk’s companies, buy a house in Thailand, buy my way into some exclusive parties and donate some to Spurs so they can finally buy a player.”

Beautiful. Poetic. Highly Specific. Perfect.

5. David Grech Urpani

“I’d buy an apartment in Paris, open a shop right under it, and buy a 1965 black Mustang.”

We can already hear the artsy indie film soundtrack in the background.

6. Rachel Ripard

“I’d help out the people I know with whatever money-related issues they have, but also give a lot to various charities or start my own. I’d buy myself a couple of properties, update the old wardrobe, take my friends and family on the best trip of their lives for as long as they want, and invest some. But first of business would be to employ a financial advisor.”

That’s definitely smarter than half of us!

EuroMillions stages two impressive draws a week, on Tuesdays and Fridays.

To play the game, all you need to do is choose five main numbers between 1 and 50, and two extra numbers – called Lucky Stars – between 1 and 12.

Match the main numbers and the Lucky Stars, and you win the EuroMillions jackpot! It’s never lower than €17 million, but it’s currently ten times that number. The highest it can go is €190 million, so this is nearly as high as it gets.

Announced in advance, the Superdraw is a special EuroMillions draw that happens at various times during the year… and the next one is on 21st September!

So how do you play the Superdraw from Malta?

Well, now that Malta has joined nine other countries around Europe, there’s no need to travel anywhere to purchase the tickets.

Tickets can be purchased online, safely and securely, at theLotter, the world’s leading online lottery ticket purchasing service.

To play, you register your account at theLotter and then purchase a EuroMillions Superdraw ticket online, listing your favorite numbers or using the randomly selected numbers suggested for you.

Representatives of theLotter purchase official EuroMillions tickets on your behalf. Your tickets are scanned and uploaded into your personal account on the site so that you can see them ahead of the Superdraw.

If you are lucky enough to win prizes in the Superdraw, you will receive notification via SMS or email with the good news, thanks to theLotter’s automated results checking. And more importantly, you will receive the entire amount of your prize… with no commissions taken!
