For the second year in a row, Coca-Cola is launching new limited edition glass bottles with a uniquely Maltese design adorning the drinks. From the traditional Maltese luzzu to several iconic landmarks, the new Coca-Cola bottles celebrate the Maltese islands’ rich history.

The new limited edition Coca-Cola bottle will be available from souvenir shops, restaurants and bars around Malta and Gozo

And it comes in two variants; Coca-Cola Original in the classic red and Coca-Cola Zero in black.

They will only be available throughout this year, and collectors will be able to get their hands on them from now.

The bottles include artworks depicting 10 instantly recognisable icons from all over Malta.

It’s pretty cool to see that a mega international brand has been given such a local twist. Inspired by Malta’s cultural wealth, the 2019 bottles truly celebrate the Maltese islands and all that we have to be proud of.

Spot the iconic Auberge de Castille, the magnificent Triton Fountain, the medieval Mdina gate, the old Maltese Bus, the colourful Valletta Waterfront and the traditional Luzzu. These Coca-Cola bottles celebrate Malta’s Historic and Cultural Heritage.

But we want to hear from you, which do you think is the most classically Maltese icon? Let us know by voting below.

The bottles were unveiled during the Malta Fashion week at an event held at Fort St Elmo

And they were designed by Emmanuel Bonnici, a Maltese graphic designer based in London and who started his career as a graphic designer with GSD Marketing Ltd.

A percentage of the proceeds from the sales of these limited-edition bottles will be donated to the Heritage Malta Fund which goes towards the restoration and preservation of Maltese heritage sites.
