Calling all techies: the ultimate gadgets expo is coming to Malta this weekend for three days full of the coolest tech to ever reach the island. Organised by none other than popular local TV show Gadgets, the Gadgets Expo will be set up at the Malta Robotics Olympiad 2019 between the 10th and 12th of May.

From robot dogs to television fridges, the Gadgets Expo will have it all

Here are seven of the super cool items you’ll be able to try out and interact with at the expo:

1. The latest electric Twizy

This is technically the smallest mainstream electric car available on the market at the moment. It’s not actually a car, but a quadricycle, because of its limited size, weight and top speed – perfect to manoeuvre through Maltese traffic.

But just look at that thing and tell me you don’t want to own one right now.

2. Bose noise-masking sleepbuds

They look like tiny headphones, but Bose noise-masking sleepbuds are designed specifically for sleep. They don’t stream music or have acoustic noise cancellation, but they use pre-loaded, soothing sounds to cover up unwanted night-time noises so you can get to sleep and stay asleep.

Absolutely perfect for anyone who’s partner is a snorer!

3. Samsung Family Hub fridge

The kitchen is usually the heart of the home, especially here in Malta. With Family Hub, you can stay connected to every part of your life from inside your kitchen. You can shop, send notes and sync schedules, see who’s at the door, play music and watch TV — right from your fridge.

4. Slow-Mo on the Huawei P30

This one’s pretty self-explanatory; you can try out the new slow motion feature on the Huwaei P30 mobile phone.

Think of all the slow-mo shots of you and your friends jumping like you’re in a High School Musical poster.

5. An electric vintage Maltese bus

What better way to showcase Malta’s future than by blending it with the past?

After the islands fell in love with the concept of what our future buses could look like, a vintage Maltese bus turned electric will be present at the expo for you to interact with in person.

6. The Aibo dog

Aibo is a series of robotic pets designed and manufactured by Sony.

Sony announced a prototype Aibo in mid-1998, and between 1999 and 2006 new versions were released yearly. After over a decade, a new version was released and it’s basically an actual dog in robot form. Robodog? Yes please.

7. A CarbQ

It’s exactly what you think it is; a car turned into a barbecue.

Perfect for all your summer trips to the beach, just pack the pink sausages and garlic bread and you’re ready to go.

The Gadgets Expo at the MRO19 is a free event perfect for people of all ages

It’s being held at the MFCC in Ta’ Qali between the 10th and 12th of May. Hosted by Ian and Rachel from Gadgets, and featuring all the above gadgets and so much more, its bound to be an exciting event for anyone and everyone.
