If you thought 21 Questions couldn’t get any louder, you’re wrong. For our very special pride instalment of the series, Chucky caught up with Karly Naudi and Carina Camilleri in the comfort of the sleek Volvo XC40 for what is hands-down the loudest episode to date.
And thanks to the car’s keyless entry, there was no way our host was breaking a sweat before picking up these two fashion icons.
You just know you wouldn’t want to be looking anything short of perfect around these beauty queens.
If you’re in any way acquainted with the LGBTQI+ community locally, there’s no way you haven’t heard of Karly Naudi – trans* rights activist and fashion extraordinaire. This powerhouse of a woman has been making headlines with her relentless devotion to equality and inclusivity, and has subsequently garnered quite the impressive social media following.
Stylist, modelling agency owner, event organiser, celebrity momager… there really isn’t anything Carina Camilleri can’t do. Carina’s sheer passion for her job and sarcastic personality has made her stand out from the rest and helped proclaim her as one of Malta’s fastest-growing female entrepreneurs.
From embarrassing childhood stories to pertinent messages to the LGBTQI+ community, Carina and Karly took Chucky for one hell of a ride
You’ll get to hear all about their misadventures in the full video, but until then, here’s a run-down of some of our favourite facts about this likely pairing:
- Karly’s allergic to cats
- Carina can make a mean imqarrun (but not much else)
- They’re both big fans of the series Pose
- Karly would love to pay Morocco a visit
- Carina’s a sucker for footballers
- Karly was half-naked when she met Michelle Muscat
- Carina had a very particular morning routine as a kid
Trivialities aside, Carina and Karly both want to let you know that there is nothing wrong with being different, rather, you should own it. Empowering.
Speaking of being different (and better), the Volvo XC40 can be remotely controlled from your very own smartphone
This sounds like something straight out of Robocop, but it’s the truth. Thanks to Volvo’s latest Volvo On Call app, everything you need to know about your very own car can be easily accessed through a few taps.
This new app allows you to cool your XC40 down prior to a long journey before you’ve even set foot in it. Plan a trip remotely from your phone through Volvo On Call and everything from directions to parking spaces will be comfortably displayed on the car’s nine-inch touchscreen display.
Forgot where you parked? We’ve all been through that
This app will solve all your parking-related issues as it logs your parking location and directs you straight to your car from the comfort of your phone.
Any vital, car-related information can also be accessed remotely – from fuel-levels and outside temperature, to an alarm alert and an owner’s manual. Neat!
Speaking of parking, you’ve got one less thing to worry about
If your parking space – parallel or perpendicular – is 1.2 times or more the size of your Volvo, the XC40’s Park Assist Pilot will take full control of the steering and help you slide in no time.
If you’re up for more of a challenge however, a rear Park Assistant Camera will clearly display whatever might be behind you on the car’s centre display. With on-screen guidelines helping you out every step of the way, every parking job with the XC40 is bound to be a smooth one.
Now we’re not saying Chucky needs an assistant camera to park this bad boy… but it’s definitely one less thing to worry about if you’re driving around two larger-than-life characters like Carina and Karly!
Basically, this Volvo guarantees an insanely smooth ride every time, so grab yourself an XC40, and let your car/smartphone do all the dirty work.
