Survey: Help Us Explore The Public’s Pulse On The Latest Cannabis Legislation

Article Featured Image

From dope and pot to marijuana, Mary Jane and Kandy Kush, weed or ‘wacky baccy’ comes under many names and in many guises.

In Malta, since the end of 2021, over-18s can grow cannabis at home, be part of a cannabis club and carry small amounts for personal consumption legally.

The ARUC is the new Authority for the Responsible Use of Cannabis in Malta which put in place pioneering regulatory framework for adult-use cannabis, and if you’re following their rules, you’re good to go.

However, because the drug isn’t completely decriminalised, if you’re uncertain about the law, you could find yourself at the deep end.

Aġenzija Sedqa is Malta’s national agency supporting individuals with substance and behavioural addictions. They’re an important one-stop shop to both promote dependency-free lifestyles and the avoidance of addictions, and they provide treatment and rehabilitation for those who are struggling with the challenges these behaviours pose.

Importantly, the Aġenzija Sedqa also keeps up to date with emerging trends in popular culture and societal needs so that their services evolve in line with Malta’s changing requirements. They are keen, therefore, to measure exactly how much we all know about what we can and can’t now do legally with cannabis.

That’s why Aġenzija Sedqa are asking YOU to answer a few questions in this survey so they can see what we – as a population – understand about the latest cannabis legislation.

They would like to hear from you even if you are an avid abstainer from the Devil’s Lettuce or you love a little laughing grass.

While smoking weed can be fun, or helpful to manage pain, it’s important that when you use substances, you do so with an understanding of the possible perils of drug-use.

If a behaviour or substance is becoming a problem for you, then the Aġenzija Sedqa are always on hand if you need them, and you’re encouraged to contact them for support.

The professional, friendly and approachable team recognise the importance of that first step, and can provide a wide-range of multi-disciplinary services including community based as well as residential services, therapeutic services, inpatient and outpatient medical services.

With evidence-based practices, backed by the latest research in the field, Aġenzija Sedqa offers understanding and confidential professional support to both users and their partners and families in a central location and free of charge.

Simply call Sedqa on 23885110 or their support line after hours on 179 for a fulfilling addiction-free future.
