Tommy Hilfiger Brings Nautical Flair To New York Fashion Week With A Fresh Twist
Tommy Hilfiger, the iconic brand represented locally by Hudson Group, set sail at New York Fashion Week this September, with a spectacular Spring ’25 collection that brought fresh energy to classic nautical vibes.
Held aboard the decommissioned Staten Island Ferry, the MV John F. Kennedy, the show embodied the brand’s unmistakable love for maritime life, all while playing with bold red, white and blue details.
“We’ve always been inspired by the nautical and maritime world—it’s been part of our DNA since 1985. Now we’re remixing it for 2025, with a relaxed summer feel that’s perfect for the city,” said Tommy Hilfiger himself, summing up the latest collection.
With nautical stripes and sailing-inspired pieces like Breton and Ithaca shirting, Hilfiger’s designs flowed effortlessly between laid-back coastal chic and city-ready prep. From archival regatta jackets and crinkled cotton pants to oversized fisherman knits and sporty blazers, the collection combined light, fluid materials with signature preppy elements. Ladies will love the new capri pants paired with the iconic Hilfiger fisherman knits, while sporty prepsters can opt for double-pleated yacht shorts, varsity jackets and the brand-new chunky rope TH Monogram caps.
A star-studded front row added even more flair to the occasion, with Stray Kids’ Felix and Lee Know, Jisoo, and actor Damson Idris taking center stage. Abby Champion, the face of Hilfiger’s Fall ’24 campaign, strutted down the runway with her fiancé, Patrick Schwarzenegger, cheering her on from the crowd.
And if that wasn’t enough, the show wrapped up with a knockout performance by Staten Island’s very own Wu-Tang Clan legends, Ghostface Killah, Method Man and Raekwon, curated by Questlove himself. Among the guest list were big names like Tinashe, Quavo, Doechii, Ayra Starr and Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, all getting in on the Hilfiger action.
Following on from last February’s hit show at Grand Central’s Oyster Bar, this season saw the fashion elite gathering at Pier 17, South Street Seaport, where they enjoyed a slice of Hilfiger hospitality with unbeatable views of the Brooklyn and Manhattan Bridges. The MV John F. Kennedy’s original interiors set the perfect stage for the brand’s collection, while also marking the ferry’s farewell, as it prepares to become a comedy club under the ownership of comedians Pete Davidson and Colin Jost.
Malta’s own fashionistas can get their hands on the latest Tommy Hilfiger looks at The Point in Sliema, Arkadia in Gozo and Valletta. And if you haven’t checked out the brand-new Tommy Hilfiger store at the state-of-the-art Mercury, now’s the time to treat yourself to some serious retail therapy!
