We’re well into November now so Christmas carols, decorations, and celebrations are more than encouraged. Nothing makes your heart warmer during the winter season than spending some quality time with your family and indulging in the Christmas spirit.

Except maybe some hot chocolate.

And if you’re looking for some family fun come December, we have the perfect suggestion for you.

A Christmas Wonderland is making its way to the Valletta Waterfront!

And from giant decorations and games to scrumptious seasonal food, here’s everything waiting for you during the Christmas Wonderland at Valletta Waterfront;

The whole thing kicks off with the ceremonial Christmas tree lighting on Saturday 30th November at 7 pm. The Valletta Waterfront will be transforming into the Christmas village of your dreams, and it all starts there.

Oh, and when we say Christmas tree, we mean a 35-foot tall Christmas tree.

When?

The Waterfront will be busy with fun, games, food and loads of Christmas activities on: 1st, 6th, 7th, 8th, 12th, 13th, 14th, 15th, 20th – 31st December and on the 1st January.

You’ll be able to post your letters to Santa from the village

And if you add a return address, he’ll even send you a reply! Santa will be there at his workshop, running around to greet everyone and available for photo opportunities.

While his elves are on break from the workshop, they will be organising fun and games for the little ones (and not-so-little ones) to take part in. There will be;

  • giant Christmas games,
  • face painting,
  • crafts,
  • meet & greets with their favourite characters,
  • puppet shows,
  • bouncy castles and so much more.

There will be amazing decorations to go with the giant Christmas Tree, including a massive Nutcracker Soldier that’s over 20 feet tall. There will also be food and drinks being served, including some very seasonal mulled wine for the grown-ups.

A miniature Christmas village, some traditional Christmas cribs will be on display and gifts to buy for your loved ones. Bands, choirs, and other performers will take to the promenade to bring some extra Christmas joy to your ears.

Entrance to the Christmas Wonderland and all the holiday activities are totally free

So it’s the perfect reason to spend some quality time with your friends and family over the Christmas period. The Waterfront has welcomed and entertained guests from all over the world for years, and this Christmas will be no different.

Between 26th and 31st of December, special celebrations will take place culminating in a mega New Year’s Eve bash.

Live music will help to ring in the New Year as fireworks light up the sky

There will be drinks and songs and lots of celebrations! So get your loved ones together for an exciting visit to the Valletta Waterfront Christmas Wonderland this December.

Valletta Waterfront

The Valletta Waterfront is an award-winning landmark on the Island of Malta. There are nineteen beautifully restored 18th century warehouses built during the late Baroque period, stretching along the water’s edge with a backdrop of historic bastions and fortifications. The gemstone buildings were originally constructed by Grandmaster Pinto to be used as stores by the Knights of St. John. Today, ushering in a modern era, the iconic doors have been revived with an artistic impression of colour, representing the storage of goods from days past, with blue for fish, green for produce, yellow for wheat and red for wine. The heritage buildings have been transformed into a variety of lively restaurants, retail outlets and office space. One will find a host of services ranging from banks to tax-free shopping, WIFI connection to a tourist information service and various transport services. The Valletta Waterfront is the key element of Valletta Cruise Port, as the recognized centre for thriving cruise business in Malta. The coloured doors are the first and last visual impression which lingers with our visiting guests.
