Watch: Indulge In An Italian Culinary Extravaganza: Pizza And Pasta Galore!
Local eatery Vecchia Napoli served up a delicious Italian feast with a mouth-watering selection of six different pizza and pasta dishes, showing Lovin Malta the delicate processes behind the establishment’s highly-loved plates.
The newsroom showed up at the popular restaurant to learn a bit about the establishment’s top dishes, we got to taste three different pizza and three different pasta recipes that were enjoyed at the scenic Salini branch and shared through two separate videos.
Pasta
Three classic pasta dishes were prepared by the chef at Vecchia Napoli.
Lovin Malta’s Johnathan Cilia got to try a simple Spaghetti all’Aglio, Olio, e Peperoncino recipe that is traditional in Napoli and was just bursting with the flavour of high-quality ingredients.
Another dish coming from Napoli was the indulgent Spaghetti alle Vongole that can turn a fish hater.
And finally, the Paccheri ‘Nduja e Burrata which originates from a mixture of regions and will leave you dreaming of the dish.
Pizza
In the second video, dough, cheese, and tomato sauce were consumed in abundance.
The first pizza that stunned Cilia’s tastebuds was the Capo Di Monte which was described as Vecchia Napoli’s “flagship pizza”.
Second was a new entry on the beloved menu, the Spacca Napoli; a creative pizza with an unusual shape that mimics the street it is named after which divides the city of Naples. A stuffed cheesy, meaty, and tasty crust was devoured and enjoyed over a classic Italian tablecloth decorated with fresh ingredients.
Third and finally was the simple yet “most loved pizza on the island” – the Margherita. Sweet tomatoes, pungent basil, and stringy mozzarella were the perfect way to end this delectable video that will leave you craving a pizza.
