WATCH: This Bright Orange Car Casually Drove Out Of The Sea To Start A Party At Għadira Bay
Hanging out at the beach is always fun, but it’s not exactly the most surprising of times – you are kind of expecting to see the sea, sand, and Italians in speedos. However anyone chilling at G?adira beach on Saturday was lucky enough to witness one of the coolest marketing stunts to hit the island in a while.
A bright orange truck bearing the Aperol Spritz logo casually drove out of the sea onto the beach, stunning swimmers and sunbathers alike with the randomness of it all. The truck pulled up, opened some flaps, and, before anyone could say ‘Venezia’ the truck had casually instigated a beach party under the summer sun, with freshly made Aperol Spritzes to boot.
Aperol Spritz had hinted that they had a “super-cool surprise” coming just last week on social media
The amphibious car stunt was part of a fun-packed afternoon featuring the likes of Valentina Rossi, Nate Darmanin, and Frank Zammit, rockin’ DJs, and sun-in-the-fun games – all in the brand’s loud orange, of course.
With amphibious vehicles becoming more of a thing nowadays, here’s hoping Aperol Spritz can start ferrying people to and from Mellie?a. It would help ease the traffic congestion issue, and would also just be a really cool thing to do!
In a statement, Claudia Attard, Aperol Brand Manager had this to say on the event. “Obviously such an event requires a lot of planning, also to ensure it is carried out responsibly and with no impact on the bay or beach. In this regard I would like to thank the MTA, ERA, Transport Malta, the Police, the Mellieha Local Council and the NGO Zibel for their support. I would also like to thank Munchies in Mellie?a for their help in this event.”
