We Asked People What They Love And Hate About Studying In Malta. This is What They Said
Studying in Malta could very well be the next step to the rest of your life. The skills you learn as you obtain your new degree can make or break your career – and the way you study is a key part of all of that.
Lovin Malta published an online survey to find out what people want and exactly 1,100 people responded.
The largest cohort to responded to the survey were 19 – 22 year-olds, with 41% of all respondents falling in that range, followed by 16 – 18 year-olds (28%).
This is what they told us about studying…
1. The majority of students prefer regular assessments instead of exams
Nearly 67% of all respondents said they would prefer to be graded through regular assessments based on home assignments as opposed to written examinations, or even a number of other methods.
To compare, just under one-fifth of students said they would prefer written examinations, while over three-fifths said they was regular assessments.
2. About a third of students prefer studying part-time
People cited the “flexible schedule”, “less stress”, and the “opportunity to work while studying” as key reasons part time studies were preferred.
3. When it comes to selecting a school, there are three important things for students
The most important thing for students include: “subjects being offered“, with over 60% of respondents choosing that; “approachable and educated teachers“, which 55% of students opted for, and “the reputation of the school“, which 40% opted for.

4. Having parking facilities near the school was “very important”

5. And over one third of students would like a British qualification when undertaking a degree
With the world becoming more and more global, 36% of students said they would like a British qualification. This recognisable qualification would be an asset, whatever the job you are applying for happens to be.
