							New survey results highlight Wolt’s significant positive impact on local businesses across Malta, confirming the platform’s role as essential infrastructure for modern retail and growth. The findings, targeting local retail, grocery and food/beverage merchants, underscore the vital importance of leveraging platforms like Wolt to drive financial growth and expand customer reach.
The survey, which captured insights from Wolt’s merchant partners, reveals that a majority of businesses are seeing tangible financial benefits from their partnership:
- A significant 63% of Maltese merchants report that Wolt has helped increase their revenue or sales.
- Wolt is an effective growth partner, with 73% of merchants stating that gaining additional sales on top of their in-store sales is a key benefit.
- Beyond revenue, 52% of merchants also report an increased customer base due to Wolt.
These findings illustrate that Wolt is a crucial tool for financial expansion, providing small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) with access to wider customer bases and tools for growth.
 
  Reinforcing Local Business Growth and Reach
Wolt’s platform is deeply integrated into Malta’s small business ecosystem, primarily supporting local, independent, micro-sized operations. Key statistics regarding Wolt’s impact on local businesses include:
- Expanded Customer Reach: 79% of merchants affirm that Wolt enables them to reach customers they would otherwise not be able to access.
- Support for Local SMEs: 55% of Wolt’s merchant partners in Malta operate only one business location and 45% employ fewer than 10 people. Nearly half (48%) identify as small business owners.
- Diverse Merchant Base: The partners primarily consist of restaurants (69%) and retail stores (27%), covering essential local commerce sectors, including food/beverage, retail and groceries.
- Complementing In-Store Sales: Wolt complements, rather than replaces, physical footfall. A substantial 88% of merchants report that their in-store sales either increased or remained stable while using Wolt.
Furthermore, 52% of merchants state that Wolt has helped to digitise their business.
