World Travel Market, the global leader in events catering to travel professionals, returned to London on the 7th – 9th November 2022.

WTM London held a hybrid event in 2021, focused on reconnecting and re-establishing those business connections following the coronavirus crisis, and getting insights into travel trends. The focus was on sessions tackling challenges the travel industry faces to this day.

WTM has long been known as a meeting place for the global travel industry, where ideas and connections shape travel. However, the 2021 event was seen as especially pivotal because it provided an opportunity for the industry to really take off once more following the easing of COVID-19 travel restrictions around the world.

The Malta Tourism Authority, one of the 1,000 exhibitors, took the chance to promote the island’s attractive prospects as a holiday destination with their very own stand, featuring representatives from the Maltese agency as well as from the UK office, under the supervision of Ms Tolene van der Merwe.

The stand received significant attention from travel agents, tour operators, bloggers, content creators and destination management companies alike.

“The World Travel Market was another sterling opportunity for the Malta Tourism Authority to showcase Malta’s tourism industry on the international stage”, Minister for Tourism Clayton Bartolo explained.

The 2022 edition marks the 43rd WTM event, and the organizers launched an app to make the experience even more enriching for attendees and exhibitors alike.
