YGP Malta International Summer School Is Back In 2026

Malta recently played host to a landmark event for the local dance community: the very first YGP Malta Intensive, where dancers had the opportunity to train under internationally acclaimed mentors in two back-to-back three-day programmes.
This experience brought to Malta a distinguished faculty of renowned figures from some of the world’s most prestigious institutions, including:
● Alexei Moskalenko – Artistic Director Associate, YAGP
● Maria Eichwald – John Cranko School, Stuttgart
● Marek Rozycki – Artistic Director, Berlin State Ballet School
● Robert Parker – Artistic Director, Elmhurst Ballet School
● Marisha Bonnici – YGP Partner, Malta
For participating dancers, this intensive wasn’t just about attending another masterclass. The combination of mentorship, exposure to varied artistic approaches and insight into different schools of thought gave students the chance to broaden their horizons, refine their artistry and elevate their versatility as performers.

The course itself went beyond regular training. Over the intensives, students engaged in daily classes with artistic directors and master teachers, receiving personalised corrections, feedback and guidance in both technique and artistry. This direct interaction with world-renowned professionals gave dancers a chance to understand what international schools and companies look for, while refining their performance skills in an inspiring and supportive environment.
Having mentors of this calibre right here in Malta is nothing short of extraordinary. Usually, dancers would need to travel abroad to receive training with such directors, but with YGP Malta, that level of expertise is being made accessible locally. Opportunities like these are truly unmissable for local aspiring dancers looking to further their training and continue to enhance their art.
And the results speak for themselves. Beyond refining their artistry and broadening their technical skills, participants also gained real opportunities for growth. Several dancers received acceptances, scholarships and short-term study offers from international schools – a testament to both their talent and the platform that YGP provides.
For many, the intensive was more than a workshop – it was a transformative experience that gave them confidence, expanded their understanding of different artistic approaches and opened doors to a future in dance.
None of this would have been possible without the unwavering support of its main sponsors, the BOV Joseph Calleja Fund and VisitMalta.

And the best part? It’s coming back.
