Malta’s youth are driving change, inspiring innovation, and making an impact like never before and now, their achievements are being celebrated on a national stage.

FreeHour, Malta’s leading platform for students and young people, proudly presents the 2025 edition of the FreeHour Youth Awards: an event dedicated to recognising outstanding contributions across 17 diverse categories.

Since its inception, the FreeHour Youth Awards has become one of the most anticipated  events in Malta’s youth calendar, honouring individuals aged 13 to 25 who are making a meaningful difference across a variety of fields.

How It Works

Phase 1 – Nominations: Recognising Exceptional Youth

Individuals are invited to submit entries for young people aged 13 to 25 who have  demonstrated extraordinary impact within their communities or industries. Self-nominations are also encouraged for those who believe they embody the spirit of excellence the awards aim to celebrate.

Phase 2 – Voting: Empowering the Public and Expert Voices

After the nomination period closes, FreeHour will shortlist 4–5 finalists per category. The public will then have the opportunity to vote for their preferred finalists, contributing  50% to the final outcome, while a panel of expert judges will contribute the remaining  50%, ensuring a balanced and fair selection process.

Phase 3 – Finalists: Celebrating Achievement

The 4-5 finalists in each category will be invited to the official awards ceremony, where the winners will be announced and honoured. Winners will receive a bespoke trophy and  formal recognition for their exceptional contributions and accomplishments.

More Than Just An Award

Beyond the celebration itself, the FreeHour Youth Awards represent something greater, a platform that empowers Malta’s young people to pursue their passions, break barriers, and drive positive change.

Each accolade stands as a testament to the creativity, resilience, and innovation that define Malta’s vibrant youth community.

Submit your nominations by 6th May and be part of the journey to celebrate youth  excellence. Stay tuned for updates and voting announcements via FreeHour’s website.
