Bjorn started his ALS Malta journey in 2015, way before he was officially diagnosed. On the day that he was diagnosed, Bjorn headed to the first-ever ALS Malta event, the ice bucket challenge in Ta’ Xbiex, and the rest is history.

After seven years of helping patients with various neurological disorders, ALS Malta has decided to rebrand with the aim of creating a more inclusive space for its patients. Introducing ALS Malta+

Ever since ALS Malta+ rebranded, it has become a saving grace for everyone who’s going through a neurological issue, no matter if they’re the one diagnosed or a family member. Through the wonderful things that ALS Malta+ are doing many patients have benefitted from free medical equipment, physiotherapy, counselling, and many other services.

First-ever residential nursing home

Thanks to the first-ever residential neurological nursing home, 13 patients have access to a dignified way of living. Together with these 13 residents, roughly another 300 patients are getting help sent straight to their door.

All this is only possible thanks to the kind hearts of everyone residing in Malta. If you want to donate, tune in to one of the many fundraising events throughout the year, or head on over to www.maltaoutlet.com

A new service is in the pipelines

Introducing DAR Bjorn Respite, an extension of DAR Bjorn Żebbug, will help ease some of the responsibility put on the caretakers in times where they cannot care for the patient. Patients can check-in and will receive care around the clock for the duration of the stay.

ALS Malta+ need you to make DAR Bjorn Respite come true

Everything that ALS Malta+ has achieved would not have been possible without the island’s donations. Building the respite home would do a lot of good for everyone who is going through a stressful time.

That’s why ALS Malta+ are organising a telethon on Sunday 25th September to raise funds for the DAR Bjorn Respite home.

Tune in to any local television station and help ALS Malta+ make a difference in these people’s lives through your donation. You can head on over to www.alsmalta.org/donate, send an SMS, worth €11.65, to 5061 9271, or via the BOV Mobile pay app by sending your preferred amount to 7909 6249.
