In a bid to enhance accessibility and streamline services for individuals with disabilities, Aġenzija Sapport has announced that applications for the coveted Blue Badge can now be submitted online.

This move comes as part of the agency’s ongoing efforts to embrace digital transformation and provide greater convenience to applicants.

Since January 2023, Aġenzija Sapport has already received an impressive influx of more than 1,800 Blue Badge applications, with over 1,270 supporting documents processed since the beginning of the year.

This figure reflects the soaring demand for the invaluable parking permit, which grants individuals with disabilities reserved parking spaces.

The online application system was first introduced in March 2022 and has proven to be highly successful, handling over 5,600 applications to date.

By offering a user-friendly online form, applicants can now conveniently submit their information, make necessary payments, and provide the required documents electronically, ensuring a smoother and more efficient process.

During a recent visit to the Agenzija Sapport Head Office in Santa Venera, Minister for Inclusion, Volunteering, and Consumer Rights, Julia Farrugia Portelli, had the opportunity to meet with the dedicated team responsible for managing the Blue Badge applications.

Minister Farrugia Portelli expressed her support for the initiative and closely followed the progress of the application process.

In addition to the Blue Badge application services, the Head Office of Agenzija Sapport serves as a central point of reference for the community.

It offers various services, including community support programs like Sharing Lives, the Way to Work Program, social worker teams, occupational therapists, the Independent Community Living team, and the Family Support Unit. Visitors can inquire about services, schedule appointments, and even seek guidance from the Agency’s Helpline, which is managed by knowledgeable officials.

The Blue Badge application can be accessed through the official Aġenzija Sapport website here, or by visiting their offices in Malta and Gozo. For further assistance and information, individuals can contact the Agency’s Helpline by dialing Freephone 153.

By embracing digital channels and transitioning to online applications, Aġenzija Sapport aims to enhance accessibility to its services while providing a more streamlined experience for individuals applying for the Blue Badge.

This important step highlights the agency’s commitment to inclusivity and ensuring that individuals with disabilities can enjoy easier access to parking facilities, contributing to a more inclusive society for all.
