‘Congratulations Minister!’ MP Mark Anthony Sammut Responds To Chris Fearne Blaming The PN

PN MP Mark Anthony Sammut has taken to social media to respond to Miriam Dalli, Chris Fearne, Robert Abela and the PL – after a statement issued by Deputy Prime Minister Fearne blamed the Nationalists for neglecting Malta’s energy infrastructure.

“After ten years in Government, they still blame everything on the Nationalist Party,” said Mark Anthony Sammut on social media.

“The Nationalist Party left good infrastructure for the 415,000 people who were living in Malta and Gozo in 2013.”

He continued, speaking directly to Robert Abela, Chris Fearne and Miriam Dalli: “It was you who chose the cheap labor policy that raised the population to 535,000.”

“It was your duty to invest in adequate infrastructure to account for the requirements of this increase.”

“Now they are boasting that in the last year and a half, they have reinforced only nine cables of the 11kV out of more than 1,200 that enter the substations. Less than 1% of the system! Congratulations Minister!”

Though the PL has been in power for a decade, the party continually blames the opposition for Malta’s current woes.

“The more you talk, the more your incompetence and lack of plan becomes clear,” said the PN MP.

Mark Anthony Sammut, earlier this week, was one of the PN MPs who called for Energy Minister Miriam Dalli’s resignation, amidst the ongoing electricity supply debacle.

While Malta’s bipartisan political tensions are always simmering away, this week’s intense heat – and the fact that so many households have no energy to do anything about it – has brought those bubbles to a boil.

“The people and workers of Enemalta are paying the price of your shortcomings and corruption.”
