Escape Malta’s Infernal Heat In These 11 Churches Decked Out With AC

If you’ve ever been in a Maltese church, then you know that sitting through mass is like sitting in a sauna. Those who arrive early get the seats right by the fan, the rest of us are left using the church pamphlet or song book to cool down.

In a desperate attempt to escape the summer heat, a question was posted on RUBS asking if there were any churches in Malta that had AC.  People chimed in with answers, and to our surprise, there were quite a few – now that’s a game changer.

So here are some of Malta’s churches that are decked out with AC according to you guys, so you don’t boil to death. You’re welcome.

1. Marija Reġina, Marsa

Il-knisja ta’ Marija Reġina kienet oriġinarjament iddedikata lill-Madonna tad-Dmugħ, wara li Patri Feliċjan Bilocca ra miraklu ta’ din il-Madonna jseħħ quddiemu waqt li kien l-Italja. Fl-1 ta’ Frar 1957 tqiegħdet l-ewwel ġebla ta’ din il-knisja, li ġiet ikkonsagrata f’ġieħ Marija Reġina fis-26 ta’ Ġunju 1968. Din il-knisja hija fuq stil modern, u nbniet sabiex takkomoda il-popolazzjoni tal-Marsa, li minn max-xatt kibret lejn in-naħa ta’ fuq. . . The church of Marija Regina (the Queenship of Mary) was originally dedicated to Our Lady of Tears, after Fr. Felicjan Bilocca witnessed a miracle by this saint while he was in Italy. The first stone was laid on the 1 February 1957, while it was consecrated to Marija Regina on the 26 June 1968.
