The words were sprayed on a slab of concrete encircling a construction site in Sliema, just off Tower Road.

The area is marked by a series of planning applications (PA/02386/20) put forth by Tilecraft Ltd. It seems like a Hotel Regina is in the works and it will feature commercial retail spaces, restaurants, and a car park.

The photo was shared on the popular Facebook group Expats Malta and many commenters shared the same spirit of the vandal.

“They take every millimetre they can. Building over public footpaths is a sin!” one person said.

“Saw that today. It’s taking a very long time for that particular monstrosity.”

“Paradise Sliema?” one person wrote “Sliema was a paradise till the 80s,” another responded.

Meanwhile, other commenters stated that if they had the opportunity to “make millions” they’d hop onto the construction train too.
