Inauguration Of A New Community Clinic In Għargħur

The Minister for Health and Active Ageing, Jo Etienne Abela, inaugurated a new community clinic in the locality of Għargħur.

This Clinic will be providing family doctor services, speech and language pathology, as well as podiatry, among other services. Partially financed by the National Development and Social Fund (NDSF), this new clinic, will serve over 5,000 residents of Għargħur as well as individuals living in the surrounding areas.

Minister Jo Etienne Abela explains that the range of primary care services in Community Clinics is in line with WHO’s work, where health care systems and services work best when they are closer to the community. The primary goal of this vision is for efforts and work in primary health care to be patient-centered.

“The Government is committed to continuing to invest in and strengthen primary care in the community so that we can continue to offer healthcare services at the highest level,” Minister Abela concludes.
