As revellers made their way home following last night’s Isle of MTV festival, cleaners were out in force to clean up what has been described as an “absolute record” amount of waste.

Cleansing Department head Ramon Deguara said that 40 Cleansing officials collected a grand total of 19 tonnes of waste overnight, leaving the Fosos and the surrounding area clean as a whistle in the  morning.

“I thank the Cleansing workers from the bottom of my heart for their tough night in which they returned Floriana and Valletta back to normal in only a few hours following the enormous amount of waste that was generated by the concert,” he said. “They collected 19 tonnes of waste which is an absolute record, obviously because Isle of MTV is a success story which thousands of people attend.”

Last night was the 13th edition of Isle of MTV and featured Ava Max, Martin Garrix, Bebe Rexha and Wiley, along with several local artists.
