Jake Vella And Lydia Abela Restart Christmas Charity Collecting Food For Animals In Hospital
Young triathlete and local inspiration Jake Vella has just restarted his Christmas charity with the Prime Minister’s wife Lydia Abela, collecting products and food for animals from Mater Dei Hospital.
“Today we are here to, together with you, once again invite the general public to express their altruistic values and give a voice to those who don’t have it,” Abela said while encouraging people to donate items.
The charity is called Rigal Bi Mħabba b’Differenza – A Gift with Love with a Difference. The name is a twist on another charitable initiative by Abela called Gift with Love where she collects gifts from the general public who place them under the Christmas tree in Castille Square. These are then given to children in need.
Now, the pair are launching the second edition of A Gift with Love with a Difference, targetted at animals. They’re asking for food and related products for animals which will be collected at the entrance of the hospital.
“I encourage everyone who visits Mater Dei Hospital during this festive season to leave animal food products or other products with the aim of really having a “Gift with Love with a Difference,” Abela said.
Meanwhile, Jake thanked Abela for again offering to be part of this initiative and encouraged everyone to participate so that it really is a Christmas that thinks of everyone.
The initiative will be open until 21st December.
