Kitty Guardians Need Your Help: Be Part Of The New Shelter’s Creation By Helping Raise €25,000
The well-known animal NGO, Kitty Guardians for Strays, is currently facing a difficult challenge – so much so, that their operations have been put on hold due to the lack of a functioning shelter from which to operate.
Despite this setback, the team remains dedicated to its mission and has come up with a solution that requires the help of the community.
The solution involves the transformation of personal property — a fairly large five-car garage — into a fully functional cat shelter.
The property, owned by the founders of Kitty Guardians, presents an excellent opportunity to create a space that can help save and house countless feline lives.
However, this transformation requires a substantial financial investment, estimated at €25,000.
To raise the necessary funds, Kitty Guardians has launched the KGFS Cat Shelter Pledge Campaign. The aim of the campaign is to find 500 individuals or entities willing to donate €50 each.
Donors will be recognized for their contributions with their names or their company/business names displayed on a commemoration wall in the shelter.
To become a Kitty Guardian and aid this important project, all anyone needs to do is make this one-time donation of €50.
Endorsements and donations from companies offering their services and products are also critically needed.
The conversion of the garage into a functional shelter will require bathroom fixtures, tiles, plaster and paint, aluminum, appliances like air conditioners, a fridge, washing machine, tumble dryer, and air purifiers, and various other items like a small kitchenette, stainless steel sheets and table, furniture, and a CCTV system.
Last year, Kitty Guardians reported that their costs, primarily for medical and food bills, amounted to €72,097.
Despite these costs, they managed to neuter 1,122 cats, not including the cases of injuries, sickness, and abandonment they also dealt with.
Without a shelter, however, their efforts have been put on pause. The last cats under their care have been placed at RAR’s Safehouse (Real Animal Rights Foundation – RAR Malta).
