A 57-year-old man has been hospitalised with grievous injuries after he was run over in Paola at around 5:45am this morning.

A police statement states that the man, who lives in Paola, was mowed down in Vjal Sir Paul Boffa by a 46-year-old man from Birkirkara who was driving a Toyota Corolla.

He was rushed to Mater Dei for treatment, where he was certified as having suffered from grievous injuries.
