‘Speechless’: Tributes Pour In After Dav Jr’s Father, David Meilak, Passes Away
David Meilak, the father and namesake of former X Factor Malta contestant Dav Jr, has passed away after a long battle with illness.
“Speechless,” Vinu Muscat, a close family member, posted this morning. “A person with a heart of gold and always with the attention to help others and giving advice like a father. Privileged to call you family, rest in peace Dav and condolences to our beloved Meilak family.”
Other people remembered the “inspirational” man, with people sending tributes to how the father of three was always there whenever anyone needed him, with a smile to brighten up anyone’s day.
David Meilak was well known in Mosta, where he served as a PN councillor between 2010 and 2015.
Dav Jr has yet to open up publicly about losing his father, but he had spoken about how important his father was to him in a previous post.
“I would love to shine a light on a friend who has proven to be there every step of the way. He is one of those friends that steps up when he feels that you have had a bad day and doesn’t leave your side until a smile brightens up your face. He has been my teacher and inspiration, and I am proud to be able to call him my father too,” Dav Jr had said.
“Love you to the moon and back. Thank you for everything you do, everything I am sure you will do but mostly for being you.”
