A teenage boy who was riding his bike has been taken to Mater Dei hospital with grievous injuries after being hit by a car yesterday evening at 8:30pm.

The 14-year-old boy was riding his bike in Triq Fleur-De-Lys, Birkirkara when, for some reason, a Mazda Demio being driven by a 66-year-old man from Valletta struck the boy and his bike.

A medical team were called onto the scene before taking the boy to Mater Dei hospital where he was confirmed to be suffering from grievous injuries.

The police are investigating.
