Traditional Bakery Opening In Paola Today To Offer Local Delicacies Which Have Almost Disappeared
Lovers of bread, unite! Andrea’s Bakery is opening its doors today in Paola and you’re invited to the official opening which will include free food tastings and wine.
Andrea’s is a family-run bakery and the realisation of a life-long dream. They will be using a traditional Maltese wood oven (which they painstakingly restored) but at the same time use state-of-the-art machinery.
Andrea’s will be serving ħobża (traditional Maltese bread), along with other local favourites like tal-kexxun and tal-birra which have almost disappeared.
You can also expect low salt and low sugar speciality breads, ricotta kanolli (every Sunday) and flavoured breads with onion, garlic and dried tomatoes.
Gluten-free sweet treats are going to be available every Saturday with the aim to start producing gluten-free bread which is safe for celiacs.
Opening hours are from 5:30am to 9:30pm, so you’ll definitely have an opportunity to drop by!
