A Midsummer Dream: Classical Concert At Mdina’s St Paul’s Cathedral

In June, Mdina’s historic St Paul’s Cathedral will host the event A Midsummer Dream, part of the Mdina Resounds Concert Series launched by Udjenza.
The concert, scheduled for the 25th of June, will combine classical music with spoken word within the cathedral’s distinctive setting. Performers include the Cordia String Quartet, directed by Jacob Portelli, and Maltese soprano Miriam Cauchi.
The programme features works by Mozart, Rachmaninov, Debussy, and Vivaldi, created to reflect the themes of abundance and light associated with summer. Additionally, actor Mikhail Basmadjian will recite poetry by Shakespeare, William Blake, and Rużar Briffa, adding a literary dimension to the performance.
This event continues the expansion of Malta’s Resounds Concert Series, which aims to present classical music in culturally significant venues across the country.
