Activists Protest And Urge Maltese Government To Act On Gaza Crisis

According to the protestors, more than 60,000 Palestinians have been killed in Gaza during nearly two years of relentless Israeli military action, compounding what they described as 77 years of colonisation of Palestinian land.
With entire communities in Gaza devastated and food, water, and medicine increasingly inaccessible, they warned that civilians — including children — are dying of hunger in real time.“To accept and remain inactive in the face of this horror is to endanger the very essence of our humanity,” the group said in a statement.
The activists issued a direct appeal to the Maltese government, listing three specific demands:
- Condemn Israel’s actions and support sanctions – including the cancellation of the EU-Israel Association Agreement.
- Ban the transport of weapons to Israel via Malta – by prohibiting Maltese-flagged ships from carrying arms and ensuring that vessels carrying military material are denied access to Maltese waters and services.
- Recognise the State of Palestine immediately – as a necessary diplomatic and moral stance in support of Palestinian sovereignty.
The protest is part of a broader international outcry over the situation in Gaza, as humanitarian organisations continue to report catastrophic levels of suffering among the Palestinian population.
