Elderly Woman Seriously Injured In Coast Road’s Double-Decker Bus Crash

An 80-year-old woman is in critical condition after the car she was riding in as a passenger collided with a double-decker bus on Coast Road, Naxxar.
The crash happened yesterday afternoon, with six people having to be taken to hospital by ambulance, these include the two drivers and three female passengers on the double-decker bus.
The other five people sent to Mater Dei were certified to have sustained minor injuries.
Yesterday at 3.15pm, police were informed of a collision between a Jaguar being driven by an 81-year-old man from Ħaż-Żebbuġ, who was accompanied by an elderly woman from the same locality, and a bus being driven by a 39-year-old man from Kenya, who resides in Żurrieq, and was carrying a number of passengers.
Magistrate Antoine Agius Bonnici was informed of the case and has launched an inquiry, while police investigations are ongoing.
