Four people were injured during a head-on collision in Wied il-Għajn, just hours after a 10-year-old girl lost her life in a separate accident.

Three Italians were in one vehicle heading towards St. Thomas Bay while one Maltese person was in the other vehicle heading towards Żejtun. One Italian was injured grievously, while the other three people were injured lightly.

The accident happened after 8pm in Triq id-Daħla ta’ San Tumas in Wied il-Għajn. Traffic in the area was halted following the incident.

Members of the Civil Protection Department were called onto the scene along with two ambulances before the injured parties were taken to hospital for treatment.
