European Parliament President Roberta Metsola hinted that she will remain in her current post despite mounting pressure on her to succeed Bernard Grech as PN leader.

“I have a responsibility here,” Metsola told Politico when she was asked whether she will leave her post to take up the PN leadership.

Metsola is facing significant pressure to succeed Grech as PN leader. Grech said yesterday that timing shouldn’t be a consideration, in what is widely being interpreted as a message to Metsola.

PN MP Ryan Callus is also ready to relinquish his parliamentary seat if Metsola agrees to take the job.
