A woman is currently being detained by the police after she tried to rob a restaurant in Qui-Si-Sana, Sliema earlier today.

The woman broke into the restaurant at around 5:00 am but was apprehended by a security guard on-site before being taken to the Sliema police station.

According to a police report, the woman was wielding a metal object and managed to take some money out of the cash register before she was apprehended. 

After spending some time at the Sliema police station, the woman was escorted to Police Headquarters in Floriana for further questioning.

No one was hurt during this incident.

Police investigations are still ongoing.
