Malta has always been fireworks-obsessed, but Zurrieq yesterday showed everybody else how its done.
A record-breaking petard, known as the 'ballun tal-blalen', was exploded over the southern village last night.
Koala Media's Roberto Sarcia captured the impressive feat by drone.
The 260kg petard was 2.97 metres wide and was created by Manwel Gauci from the Santa Katarina V.M. fireworks club of Zurrieq.
