WATCH: Malta, These Are Your Final Girls! X Factor’s Chair Challenge Has Begun And We’ve Never Been More Ready

X Factor Malta’s first six chair challenge dropped last night and there was more drama than ever before with no one being safe from the boot, even after being given their coveted seat. Thirteen girls, six seats. Who came out on top?

These are your final girls who have risen triumphant, but who will progress onto the live shows that we’ve all been waiting for?

(‘Cos let’s face it, the only real reason anyone watches this show is for the final, fabulous leg.)

1. Destiny Chukunyere

Why are we not surprised that Junior Eurovision royalty has sailed through to the live shows? Because it’s Destiny, duh!

While we’re here, can we also talk about that flawless performance of Mabel’s Don’t Call Me Up? Destiny out here proving she can be a pop-bop queen like:

2. Marija Bellia

With her rap verse mid-acoustic Bad Romance, Marija earned herself a standing ovation for and bagged one of the first seats of the night.

Marija was one of the few girls Ira was not willing to swap out for a later performer.

3. Justine Shorfid

Justine took on Rihanna’s Man Down as one of the penultimate performances of the night. Showing off both her vocals and her performance skills, Justine impressed Ira enough to earn herself a seat with Alex telling the young singer that “this is what X Factor needs”.

4. Jasmine Abela

Tackling the saucy Side to Side by one Miss Ariana Grande, Jasmine oozed in confidence with her dominant vocals – prompting Ira to comment on her “pipes”.

5. Karin Duff

Midwife by day, Dangerous Woman by night. This rising alt girl made her return to the Chair Challenge once more after falling at last year’s Judge’s Houses.

Ray called the performance “one of the best” that he’d seen all evening. We’re just wondering where her giant bunny ears were…

6. Gail Attard

Much like the showrunners, we’ve saved one of the best for last (although all off these girls must be in line with the best to have made it this far).

Having fallen at the Chair Challenge last year, Gail returned to rise like a phoenix to the tune of Hozier’s Take Me To Church and claimed Ira’s last seat like it was the throne she’s always deserved.

Who did we say goodbye to?

Charisse Vassallo, Danika Catuajar, Jelena Attard, Julia Camilleri, Kylie Meilak, Lisa Marie Tabone and Maria Ellul were all sent home after a very tense evening of performances.

Next month, we’ll see the final six girls battle it out at Ira’s house for a final spot in the live shows where each category will go face to face in the runnings for X Factor’s Malta’s season 2 winning crown.

Who do you think will win this year’s X Factor?
