Watch: Charismatic Chicken Farmer Wins Over X Factor Malta Audience Despite Not Making It Through To Bootcamp
A 35-year-old chicken farmer and father of two from Mellieħa could not quite make it to the next stage of X Factor Malta as tonight’s final audition… but that didn’t mean he failed to win over the hearts of the judges and general audience.
John Falzon chose Calum Scott’s Biblical to perform, and while he wasn’t able to perfectly pull off the song’s challenging highs and lows, the whole audition still managed to be a very positive experience.

“Everyone has his own journey in life,” Howard Keith told the contestant after his performance. “Music doesn’t have to be a professional path, it can be a hobby and there’s absolutely nothing wrong with it. I’d be lying if I said I think this can be a profession… but I’d lacking if I didn’t encourage you to continue loving music and entertaining your family and your animals, and most importantly yourself.”
Amber and Ira echoed this sentiment, giving John a No but encouraging him to persist in his passion.
Gianluca, meanwhile, was more impressed with what he heard, giving John the only Yes by the judges.
Even as John walked away, however, the judges couldn’t help but smile, clearly being won over by the young man’s charisma and sincerity.
What did you make of John’s audition?
